EXCELLENT Based on 112 reviews Posted on Google Hemma PatelTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Dom has been great at helping to relieve my neck pain and headaches. After only a few sessions, my headaches have stopped. He listened to what I wanted or didn't want as part of my treatment and made me feel comfortable.Posted on Google Max SimpsonTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Had recurrent hamstring and lower muscle injuries for years as a rugby player working a desk job. Dom pointed out several factors that were causing the injuries I wasn’t aware of and his treatment has loosened up my entire posterior chain. Have been able to play with much lower rate of reoccurrence and at a higher level when I thought I was needing to retire at 27. Just finished an entire season injury free at 30.Posted on Google Demitri EliadesTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Great professional service, very knowledgeable. I have had many physical issues throughout my life whether it be a knee a hip, a neck or an ankle Dom is the guy. If you have any pain or alignment issues, then I would highly recommend this incredibly skilled man. I trust him 100% with all problems. Please note that he is also an incredible massage therapist and probably one of if not the most intuitive therapists I have ever had the pleasure of seeing, which in my case is literally hundreds. You don’t even have to tell him where that point is that you want him to massage or touch he will find it instantly. He’s incredibly geeky and 100% nerd worthy. He knows his stuff and is clearly an expert. Full of beans and positive energy. Plus, he’s built like a rugby player so no matter what your size he can do the job. You literally won’t get any better service from anyone else. Genuinely how I feel. Thanks Dom.Posted on Google David ThomasTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Dom has a brilliant demeanour; approachable, super knowledgeable and calming - this helped so much with understanding of my injury and return timelines. Having injured my shoulder playing rugby, I was struggling to exercise in any capacity, particularly playing rugby. Dom quickly diagnosed the injury and set out a plan for return to exercise. With Dom I was able to return to exercise with confidence and have had no problems since. Being an osteopath, Dom was able to perform manual therapy through dry needling and soft tissue manipulation in each session, which I am sure made a difference.Posted on Google Isobel Astley-CooperTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. What Causes Elbow Pain?
At Move Easy Osteopathy in Bristol, we commonly treat the following causes of elbow pain:
Lateral epicondylitis (tennis elbow)
The most common cause of elbow pain we see. Despite the name, tennis elbow affects far more people who have never played tennis than those who have. It causes pain on the outer side of the elbow, typically worsening with gripping, lifting, and repetitive wrist and forearm movements. It is an overuse condition involving degeneration of the tendons that attach to the lateral epicondyle, and responds well to osteopathic treatment and a structured loading programme. Rest alone is rarely the answer.
Medial epicondylitis (golfer’s elbow)
Pain on the inner side of the elbow, caused by overuse and degeneration of the tendons that attach to the medial epicondyle. Common in golfers, climbers, and anyone who performs repetitive gripping or wrist flexion activities. Often accompanied by tingling in the ring and little fingers due to involvement of the ulnar nerve.
Olecranon bursitis
Swelling and pain at the bony point of the elbow, caused by inflammation of the bursa that sits over the olecranon. Often develops after a direct blow or prolonged pressure on the elbow. In most cases it responds well to conservative treatment, though severe or infected cases require medical management.
Cubital tunnel syndrome
Compression of the ulnar nerve at the elbow causes pain, tingling, and numbness in the ring and little fingers, and sometimes weakness in the hand. Symptoms are often worse with prolonged elbow bending, such as when sleeping or talking on the phone. Osteopathic treatment to the elbow, neck, and thoracic spine can reduce nerve compression and improve symptoms significantly.
Elbow osteoarthritis
Degenerative changes in the elbow joint cause pain, stiffness, and a gradual reduction in movement. More common in patients with a history of elbow injury or heavy manual work. Osteopathic treatment can reduce pain and maintain movement even where degenerative changes are established.
Referred pain from the neck and upper back
A significant proportion of elbow pain originates not in the elbow itself but in the cervical spine and thoracic spine, which supply the nerves of the arm. Tennis elbow and golfer’s elbow that do not respond to local treatment often have a cervical component that has been missed. We always assess the neck and upper back as part of every elbow assessment.
Elbow ligament sprains
The ligaments of the elbow can be sprained in falls, contact sport, and throwing activities. We assess ligament integrity and manage sprains conservatively where appropriate, referring for imaging or surgical opinion where needed.
Bicep and Tricep Tendinitis
The two largest muscle groups of the upper arm, the biceps and triceps, attach to the elbow. Their tendons can become inflamed, irritated and painful. The answer is personalised to you.
Accurate Diagnosis
Through a detailed case history and accurate examination, we establish you a thorough diagnosis.
Expert Treatment
Tailored hands-on treatment helps the root cause of your issue, providing pain relief and improved function.

Elbow Pain in Bristol Treatment
How Osteopathy Treats Elbow Pain
At Move Easy Osteopathy in Bristol, we assess the elbow in the context of the whole upper limb and cervical spine. Treatment is tailored to the specific diagnosis and your individual goals.
Joint mobilisation
Specific techniques to restore normal movement in the elbow, wrist, and shoulder joints, and where relevant the cervical and thoracic spine. Restoring full movement throughout the upper limb chain is an important foundation for recovery.
Soft tissue treatment
Targeted work on the muscles and tendons of the forearm, upper arm, and shoulder to reduce tension, improve circulation, and address the muscular imbalances that frequently contribute to elbow pain.
Medical Acupuncture
Highly effective for lateral and medial epicondylalgia. Dry needling of the forearm extensors and flexors, and the cervical muscles where there is a neck component, can produce significant and rapid reductions in elbow pain.
Neck and Upper Back Treatment
Where cervical or thoracic dysfunction is contributing to elbow pain, we treat the full chain. This is frequently the missing piece in elbow pain that has not responded to previous local treatment.
Rehabilitation and strength work
Using our gym space, we design a progressive loading programme targeting the specific tendons and muscles involved. For tendinopathies like tennis elbow and golfer's elbow, progressive loading is the most important component of lasting recovery. We also address any shoulder weakness or movement dysfunction contributing to elbow load.
Ergonomic and activity advice
Practical, evidence-based guidance on workstation setup, tool use, sporting technique, and activity modification to reduce load on the elbow during recovery.

Frequently Asked Questions About Elbow Pain
Can an osteopath help with tennis elbow?
Yes. Lateral epicondylitis is one of the most common conditions we treat and one that responds very well to a combination of osteopathic treatment, dry needling, and a structured progressive loading programme. Many patients who have had tennis elbow for months find significant improvement within a few sessions of the right treatment.
How long does tennis elbow take to get better?
It varies. Mild to moderate cases often respond well within 6-8 sessions. Longstanding or severe cases may take longer and require a more comprehensive rehabilitation programme. The key is addressing the underlying cause rather than just managing symptoms.
Can osteopathy help if my elbow pain is coming from my neck?
Yes. Cervical nerve root irritation and referred pain from the neck is a common and frequently missed contributor to elbow pain. Treating the neck as well as the elbow is often what makes the difference in cases that have not responded to previous local treatment.
Do I need a scan before seeing an osteopath?
No. In most cases we can assess and begin treating elbow pain without imaging. If we feel a scan would help confirm the diagnosis or guide treatment, we will advise you accordingly.
Do I need a GP referral?
No. You can book directly with us. If we identify anything that requires further investigation or onward referral, we will advise you at your appointment.
How quickly can I get an appointment in Bristol?
We aim to offer appointments within a few days. Book online or call us and we will get you in as soon as possible.
